Packing List

Use this list as a guide. You may bring other items, such as reading material as long as

the items are not on the PROHIBITED list..

Cadets will be issued 2 approved Academy T-shirts to be worn as the uniform of the day with (member supplied) khaki or tan slacks/cargo pants.
Khaki Pants recommended for protecting legs from heat and sunburn through glider canopy.

There is a laundry room with coin operated washer & dryer in the college dorm to wash clothing at the Academy.
The quantities noted below are suggested minimums. Remember to bring enough items for a stay of 8 days

Uniform Items

• 8 pair plain white socks
• 1 pair plain athletic, closed toe shoes, to wear with flight line uniform of the day
  (No Boots)
• 2 pair khaki or tan slacks/cargo pants (Academy approved T-shirts will be issued)
• Black belt
• Bucket hat (tan)
• Sunglasses within regulations

Personal Clothing

• 8 sets underwear
• Casual civilian clothing for free time
• Shower (Clogs) shoes (to be worn only to, from, and in the shower)
• 1 Grey hooded sweatshirt recommended for cool mornings
• 1 Conservative swimming suit

Personal Items – Mandatory Documents

• Current CAP ID card
• Student Pilot Certificate if you have previous glider instruction flights, Contact Ltc Dewing for instructions
• Current 101 card
• Photo ID with current home address on it
• Logbook if you have one, first time students will be provided their Logbook

Personal Items – Mandatory Equipment

• Bed linen, (sheets, blanket, or Sleeping bag)
• Toothbrush & toothpaste
• Bath soap with container
• Comb and/or brush, shampoo
• Razor and shaving cream or electric razor if currently shaving
• Washcloth(s) and bath towel(s)
• Feminine hygiene products for females
• Sunscreen ( SPF 50+ recommended)
• Lip balm and chap stick
• Deodorant – Non aerosol type
• Foot powder
• Laundry bag
• Flashlight
• ball point pen
• Notepad, pocket size
• Camelback for hydration

Personal Items – Optional

• Camera/Cell Phone
• Pillow
• Mouth wash
• Hair spray/gel
• Neck buddy cooling device

PROHIBITED ITEMS

• TOBACCO PRODUCTS, INCLUDING E-CIGARETTES
• ALCOHOL
• ILLEGAL DRUGS
• INAPPROPRIATE READING MATERIAL
• TOE SHAPED SHOES
• SHORT SHORTS

 LIMITED USE ITEMS

• CELL PHONES – ON ARRIVAL SHOULD BE TURNED IN – MAY BE USED DURING CLASS TIME AS REQUESTED BY INSTRUCTOR AND  FOR LIMITED CALLS HOME
• TABLETS, IPADS, IPODS, AND COMPUTERS – WILL BE TURNED IN AND WILL BE USED DURING CLASS AND STUDY TIME AS REQUESTED BY INSTRUCTOR
